When a woman loses her husband, she often loses her stability too. The Widows Annuity Foundation (WAF) exists to ensure widows across America can age with dignity, free from fear, by providing monthly stipends for life.
The Problem
• Nearly 1 in 3 widows over 65 lives at or near poverty (U.S. Census Bureau).
• Women live 5–7 years longer than men on average (Social Security Administration).
• Over 80% of women outlive their husbands (WISER).
• Widows experience an average 37% income decline within the first year of loss.
This financial shock forces too many widows to skip meals, forgo medicine, or even face eviction. Without intervention, many end up in shelters despite working and contributing their entire lives.
Our Solution
At WAF, we believe in lasting impact, not temporary aid. Our model ensures widows are supported for life:
1. Case worker assignment for personalized care.
2. Financial hardship affidavit + personal interview.
3. Verified references to ensure accountability.
4. Monthly stipends for life — restoring a standard of living with stability and hope.
